Beautiful Pulau Redang – Redang Island | Welcome to Redang Island

I've always fancied a visit to Redang Island or Pulau Redang (as known by many others) after catching the movie, Summer Holiday, in my younger days. A couple of months back, I came upon an attractive deal from Redang Bay Resort, so I thought, why not?

From Singapore Onboard Berjaya Air

Redang bay resort is situated on Redang Island, off the eastern coast of Terengganu (Peninsula Malaysia). It's so convenient if you are residing in Singapore, Malaysia or even Indonesia (from Batam). For my friends living in Kuala Lumpur, it's only a 6 hours drive away to the jetty at Kuala Terengganu or Merang.

70 minutes of flying from Singapore

It is my first time taking Berjaya Air. Nice and cosy plane with not much passengers. Only took a mere 70 mins away by flight from Singapore Changi Budget Terminal. I practically had my seat-belt on throughout the flight. Wow, I couldn't remember when was the last time I had my seat-belt on throughout a flight.

Arriving in Redang

When I arrived in Redang, it was simply heaven. Crystal clear glowing waters, powder like sandy beach front, lovely coral reefs and a crew of the resort b me that there are more than 20 diving and snorkeling areas can be found around Redang Island.

45 seconds away from the beach

The best part of the resort I chose is that the beach is steps away from the resort. I think maybe a 45 seconds walk? I was tempted to take on some of the facilities the resort offer including karaoke, canoeing trips, Kayak trips, Beach football (my favourite), and various card games. But nothing is more important than hanging out at the beach with a bottle of Tiger Beer.

I checked out some of the packages the resort offer including:

1. Trekking the jungle

2. scuba diving and snorkeling

I went with the snorkeling trip!

Tips for your Redang visit

Here are some tips if you plan to visit Redang anytime soon. :)

Price: RM 428 per person for twin room. Including boat transfer from Merang Jetty.

An attractive package;

3days and 2nights which comes with the following: 8 meals (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, 2 tea breaks) meals served buffet style with barbeques on alternate nights (I really loved that)

There are certain packages that includes 3 snorkeling trips and operate at: 9.30am & 2.30pm daily. Includes 1 snorkeling site at Marine Park. If you are not a sea sports person, you can choose to replace it with a jungle trekking trip instead.

Do note that, all packages excludes: life jacket rental – RM 15, marine park fee – RM 5 and mask snorkel set rental – RM 15

From Singapore, you can book a flight with Berjaya Air – it operates from Changi Budget Terminal to Redang Airport in just 70 mins. Flight depart at 11.50am arrive around 1 pm T Redang. Return flight from Redang is 10.00am. There are daily flight from Singapore which is a big plus for me!

Berjaya Air cost SGD 150 for return flight tickets comes with only 10kg luggage allowance. Is alright for me anyway.

With all that said, I had a amazing weekend at Redang Island.
