And in this case, there is little reason for the BN to celebrate – considering the millions of ringgit in projects announced during the campaign. Despite all the projects promised, the BN's majority today is only 158 votes more than its general election majority of 2434 on 5 May. Malaysiakini earlier today reported long lines of people queuing up to collect cash. What was that all about then? Is that why there was little excitement surrounding this by-election – as most people knew what to expect? You could almost slice the thick boredom in the air. Yawn! While the Election Commission makes a big deal about the BN candidate displaying his ballot paper (EC trying to prove it is independent?), what has it got to say about the stuff that really matters – the multimillion ringgit projects announced during the campaign? Earlier: A pro-BN blogger is claiming that the BN won in all districts including early and postal voters, with a total majority of 2605 (unofficial), up from the 5 May general election majority of 2434. Utusan is also reporting a 2605 majority (unofficial). Another blog indicates a winning majority of 2642 (unofficial), which agrees with the figure reported by fz.com. | BN tabur wang RM377 juta <b>di</b> Kuala <b>Besut</b> | KeadilanDaily.com Posted: 21 Jul 2013 01:35 AM PDT KUALA BESUT 21 Julai: Umno BN menaburkan janji dan sogokan sebanyak RM377.45 juta sempena kempen Pilihan Raya Kecil (PRK) Dewan Undangan Negeri Kuala Besut, kata Pengarah Pilihan Raya Pas Pusat, Dr Hatta Ramli. Katanya, jumlah itu diperolehi daripada pengumuman yang dibuat pemimpin Umno BN dan dilaporkan dalam media. Sebagai contoh katanya, projek mendalamkan Sungai Besut yang diluluskan sebanyak RM250 juta dan penambahbaikan empangan di Pengkalan Nangka berjumlah RM35 juta. Menurutnya, jika pilihan raya kecil itu tidak ada, rakyat di kawasan itu akan terus dipinggirkan kerajaan negeri dan pusat. Sehubungan itu, Hatta mempersoalkan dari sumber mana wang tersebut digunakan BN. "Adakah perbelanjaan daripada kerajaan persekutuan, atau menggunakan dana khusus atau daripada royalti rakyat Terengganu?," katanya dipetik Malaysiakini. Menurut Hatta, adalah penting Kuala Besut dimenangi Pakatan Rakyat bagi menentukan jumlah kerusi 16:16 di negeri itu dan memastikan BN tidak boleh membuat keputusan sesuka hati. Dalam sidang media juga, Dr Hatta turut mengedarkan senarai "peruntukan dan habuan" yang dilaporkan oleh media arus perdana termasuk menaiktaraf Masjid Haji Ishal, Kampung Dengir sebanyak RM343,000; projek pembinaan Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Alor Peroi, Tok Saboh RM28 juta.
