Video <b>Di Batu Rakit</b>. | Syazwan Che Deraman

Posted: 05 Aug 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Assalamualaikum.

The video was taken when we are cruising at 8000feet, our routine was from Pulau Perhentian to Batu Rakit, Kuala Terengganu, at 8000feet, suhu agak rendah and if we follow International Standard Atmosphere Deviation, for every 1000feet, the temperature will drop by 2 degrees, ok, let we do some mathematics, lets say the ground temperature is 30 degree, if we follow ISA deviation, the temperature at 8000feet would be 14 degrees.( 8 x 2 = 16, 30 - 16 = 14 )...aku dapat rasakan door window was so sejuk..

Ok, let me share with you about METAR :

METAR is a format for reporting weather information. A METAR weather report is predominantly used by pilots in fulfillment of a part of a pre-flight weather briefing, and by meteorologists, who use aggregated METAR information to assist in weather forecasting.

METAR for WMKC ( Kota Bharu Airport )

1.  ICAO code for airport.
ICAO is International Civil Aviation Organization, for Kota Bharu airport, the ICAO code is WMKC, untuk semenanjung, pangkalnya mestilah WM..manakala untuk Sabah dan Sarawak, pangkalnya mestilah bermula dengan WB, contohnya WBGG ( Kuching International Airport ).
052100z indiates the time of observation,05 is the date, 5 haribulan,  ( first 2 digit ) dan the time of observation is pukul 2100 UTC ( Universal Time Coordinated )..dan pukul 1 petang waktu Malaysia..im wondering, kenapa awal sangat.
3. Wind Direction and Wind Speed.
21003KT, first 3 digit adalah wind direction, 210 bermakna, the wind is blowing from 210 degrees and the speed is 03 knots, 1 knots equal to 1 nautical mile (nm ) per hour 1nm equals to 1.852 km, so, roughly, the wind speed is about 6 KM/H..tak ada la laju sangat kan?..
visibility is a measure of the distance at which an object or light can be clearly discerned ( dilihat ).9999 bermaksud, the visibility is more than 10km..kiranya ok la ni, the visibility is maximum.
5 and 6. Cloud Reporting.
Cloud coverage is reported by the number of 'oktas' (eighths) of the sky that is occupied by cloud..FEW02. FEW bermaksud 1-2 oktas, 02 bermaksud, the cloud layer is at 2000feet..BKN24..BKN bermaksud 5-7 oktas, more than half the sky is occupied with the cloud at 24,000 feet..
7. Temperature and Dew Point.
26/24, the first 2 digit adalah temperature dan the the second 2 digit is dew point, ok, the temperaure is 26 degrees dan dew point is 24 degrees, dew point adalah suhu untuk humid air to be cooled for water vapour to condense into water..from the dew point, we can know the cloud base.
altimeter setting is QNH 1007..the sea level pressure is 1007hPa and if we set the altimeter with the QNH in the aircraft on the airfield, it will show the airport elevation.

paham tak?..

ok, nanti nak ke pasar.

Happy Reading, have a good day.

Kampung Buloh Homestay | Kuala Berang | Homestay | Tourism Malaysia

Posted by  on Monday, August 8th 2011

Participants of homestay programmes in Kuala Berang can also get to learn about the region's rich past, writes ALIAS MOHAMED.

UNLIKE most homestay programmes where participants experience the local way of life, the Kampung Buloh Homestay programme in Kuala Berang, Terengganu, offers a taste of history instead with tales of merchants from afar who came to Kuala Berang in the 13th or 14th Century.

222 seconds of light
On the way to Kuala Berang.

With prior arrangements, guests will be able to admire artifacts such as ancient coins and crockery that can be traced to countries like West Asia and China.

Most of these items were unearthed when villagers were digging wells or working on their farms.

Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Tengku Putera Awang, who initiated the project, pointed out that even the dialect spoken by the orang ulu (Hulu Terengganu community) is unique and it should be preserved.

Relax & Fishing...
Fishing is one of the most popular activities in Kuala Berang.

"It's high time for the people of Kuala Berang and those staying in Hulu Terengganu in general to feel proud of their past and their unique identity," he said.

For a start, 27 homeowners in Kampung Buloh and Kampung Batu Bersurat are taking part in the programme. Kampung Batu Bersurat is where a stone tablet with jawi inscriptions indicating the beginning of Islam in the country, was found.

Batu Bersurat Four
The Batu Bersurat indicates when Islam was started in Malaysia.

Guests will be taken to various historical sites and places of interest in and around Kuala Berang. Besides learning about the past, they can also join in various activities organised by the Kampung Buloh security committee members.

These include canoeing (river safari) some 12 kms downstream along Sungai Berang, watching river turtles lay eggs and visiting a pheasant and peacock mini zoo near Pekan Ajil. There will also be traditional games such as congkak, top-spinning and more.

If guests are lucky, they will be able to see or join the villagers to catch fish using their bare hands or see how the villagers "cure" or process tobacco leaves.

The homestay package also includes visits to interesting places in and around Kuala Berang such as Tasik Kenyir and the nearby aborigine settlement in Sungai Berua.

A POTPOURRI OF SPELLBINDING NATURE & RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE (Page <b>...</b>

Posted: 31 Mar 2011 12:00 AM PDT

A RICH CULTURAL & HEIRTAGE TRAIL
TAMAN TAMADUN ISLAM (ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION PARK)
With 22 exquisite scaled-down replicas of famous mosques and monuments, Taman Tamadun Islam, located in Pulau Wan Man showcases the grandeurs of Islamic arts and architectures. The separated into 2 zones consists of Zone A and Zone B. At Zone A, there are miniature versions of The National Mosque in Malaysia, Kudus Al-Minar Mosque in Indonesia, The Taj Mahal, Mausoleum of Abu Nasr Parsa in Afghanistan, The Sacred Mosque (Masjidil Haram) in Saudi Arabia Suleyman Mosque in Turkey, Sultan Mosque in Singapore and many more.

Zone B on the other hand houses a convention centre, a jetty, a food court, guest house, the Warrior Park and the Crystal Mosque. It only seems natural that the magnificent Crystal Mosque, with its foundation in the water provides a floating illusion. The close proximity to the water provides reflections to the glass walls, minarets and domes, thus creates a prismatic and radiant exterior. The luminescent exterior reflects charm and the vibrant heritage and idyllic nature that surround it.

TENGKU TENGAH ZAHARAH MOSQUE (FLOATING MOSQUE)
An awe-inspiring design with picturesque surroundings, you must not miss the opportunity to visit one of the famous landmarks in Kuala Terengganu. The mosque is situated on a 5-acre of reclaimed land in Kuala Ibai, with its foundation built in the lagoon of Ibai river.

BULATAN BATU BERSURAT (INSCRIPTED STONE ROUNDABOUT)
Syed Hussin Gulam al-Bukhari, who discovered the stone tablet in Kampung Buluh, Kuala Berang in 1903, realized the historical significance of the Romanized Arabic-like text inscriptions on the stone. It is one of the most important historical evidence of an Islamic decree in scripted by a local ruler, dated 1303. The stone is an evidence of one of the earliest Islamic government in the Malay Peninsula. The inscriptions on the stone explain the decree and enforcement of Islamic laws and its punishments. Today, a replica of the stone has been built as a memorial in Kampung Buluh, Kuala Berang and another mammoth replica at a roundabout in Kuala Terengganu. The original is prominently displayed at the State Museum.

ISTANA MAZIAH (MAZIAH PALACE)
This palace is yet another main attraction of Kuala Terengganu. Unlike other traditional palaces, the design of this palace has a hint of French architecture. Overlooking the vibrant Kuala Terengganu waterfront, the palace was constructed during the reign of Sultan Zainal Abidin III in 1897. Originally called Istana Hijau (the Green Palace), the uniqueness of this mosque lies in the use of a mixture of limestone and clay, strengthened with coarse salt, egg white and honey as its main building ingredients. This palace was definitely unique in its time, however it was partly destroyed by a fire during World War II. The present palace is reconstructed during the post war era. Today, Istana Maziah is the venue for royal celebrations, royal receptions of local and foreign dignitaries, royal weddings and conferment of titles.

NOOR ARFA CRAFT COMPLEX
Situated in Chendering, Noor Arfa is a pioneer of the much acclaimed batik industry in Malaysia. Their principle to always improvise and striving for the best in batik designs have won the admiration and recognition in Malaysia. With its meticulous design and high quality fabrics, Noor Arfa has achieved the status and rare distinction of being the largest batik producer in the country. Their branches spread to most major cities in Malaysia. Noor Arfa Craft Complex not only focuses on the manufacturing activity. It is one of the nation's largest batik showrooms. There are also handicrafts and batik demonstrators which provide opportunity for visitors to learn and watch the meticulous and artistic skills passed from previous generation.

MUZIUM NEGERI (TERENGGANU STATE MUSEUM)
It is acclaimed as the largest of its kind in Malaysia. The Terengganu State Museum houses century old artifacts and artworks of rich and colourful heritage. The complex's many galleries showcase textiles, historical artifacts, crafts, royal regalia, Islamic arts, contemporary arts, weapons, petroleum development, historical, sea faring trade, fisheries and marine galleries.

Herbs and botanic garden is well-maintained in the vicinity of the museum. At the main entrance, the original Arabic Jawi text inscription of Islamic religious decree Inscribed Stone or 'Batu Bersurat' of Terengganu is prominently displayed, which proves the earliest acceptance of Islamic teachings in the Malay Peninsula. The maritime complex, the restored original old palaces and traditional boats used by sea-faring locals are also prominently displayed in the compound.

GUA BEWAH (BEWAH CAVE)
The cave is located at the southern end of Tasik Kenyir and it takes about 45 minutes to get there by speedboat from the Pengkalan Gawi Jetty. Bewah is the biggest cave in this area with an entrance of 40 meters above the water level. Archeological finds have proven that Neolithic people of the Hoabinhian circa 10,000-15,000 years ago once lived here. The intricate cave formations of limestones, stalactites and stalagmites are truly a sight to behold. Gua Bewah is also home to many nocturnal animals and insects.

TASIK KENYIR (KENYIR LAKE)
Tasik Kenyir is by far the biggest man-made hydroelectric dam in South East Asia and covers over 209,199 square hectares. It offers exotic flora and fauna. Pengkalan Gawi is the main jetty to her many splendours. Boat services, food stalls, ample parking space and a tourist information centre is available at the jetty. The lush jungles of Tasik Kenyir offer activities such as jungle trekking, bird watching, angling and camping. There are plenty of floating lodges, houseboats, chalets and international class resorts to fit every budget. For nature lover and naturalists, Tasik Kenyir offers exciting and thrilling arrays of water-based activities that makes up for a memorable stay.

AIR TERJUN LASIR (LASIR WATERFALL)
This is one of the most popular spots in Tasik Kenyir and is just a half hour boat ride from the Pengkalan Gawi Jetty. The waterfall has multi-tiered boulders creating cooling water sprays from a height of 500 feet. Tracks and walkways have been built and climbing up to the top offers a spectacular and breathtaking view.

KAMPONG CHINA (CHINA TOWN)
Chinatown in Kuala Terengganu is first established by the Chinese community in the late 19th century. It was once a hub for commercial activities that help shape Kuala Terengganu into what it is today. The Chinese built the traditionally designed shop houses according to their place of origin in China. The buildings have been declared a heritage site by the United Nation's UNESCO World Monument Watch Programme and grants are being given annually to finance preservation of this pre-colonial heritage significant. The Chinese have been living harmoniously with the majority Malays in the state. They blend with the local culture and heritage, speak fluent local dialect and share the likings of traditional delicacies while retaining their identity. Kampong China is also home to two grand temples, the Ho Ann Kiong and the Tien Hou Kong.

Duniaku <b>Di</b> Sini: Dedikasi Untuk Seorang Sahabat | Tabahlah Hati <b>...</b>

Posted: 06 Aug 2011 07:46 PM PDT

Salam Ramadhan semua..
Apa khabar kalian hari ni? Semoga sedang bahagia menjalani hari minggu bersama keluarga. Buat kawan-kawan di pata timo..selamat berkerja deh! Hari ni Mama kehilangan suara selepas 3 hari dilanda sakit tekak. Semakin menjadi2 nampaknya..almaklum, ubat hanya sempat dimakan sekali sehari. Bahagia la kamu anak-anakku sebab hari ni Mama tak leh berleter yer..:)
Semalam yg :( :( :(...Sekitar jam 10.00 pg, waktu sibuk bertugas (Mama kerja 1/2 day hari Sabtu) Mama terima sms dr teman lama mengatakan bonda kepada seorang sahabat kami telah pun kembali ke rahmatullah.Untuk pengetahuan, arwah menderita sakit kencing manis. Innalillah....sungguh besar dugaan yg dipikul sahabat Mama ni..baru bbrp bulan sudah memegang title 'Single Parent', semalam dikejutkan pula dengan pemergian bonda tercinta. Allahuakbar!!
Sepanjang hari semalam, hati turut terasa suram.
Amin!!
